PMSA Chairman exposed denying benefit from church contracts

The Courier Mail carried an article yesterday which stated "Questions are being asked over PMSA chairman Greg Adsett’s link to millions of dollars of church work." Greg Adsett is also apparently sole director of Elevation Architecture.

Adsett posted a letter to the Courier-Mail on the PMSA Facebook page today, in which he stated that "As an architect, I have been involved over the past 10 years in relatively minor projects for the Uniting Church, including the extension of a Church Hall in Mackay and work on a town planning development approval of a Samford Community Church."

That may or may not be true, but what is demonstrably true is that Mr Adsett neglected to mention at least three not-so-minor projects for the PMSA's constituent churches listed on his firm's website:

St Paul's Uniting Chruch

This calculated omission does not reassure that the PMSA is suddenly entering into a new era of sincere engagement with stakeholders. It only begs the question of what other financial matters might the PMSA be trying to mislead us about and reinforces perceptions about the culture of the organisation and the integrity and competence of its current personnel. It is nigh on impossible to see how the healing and reconciliation process the churches say they want can even get started.
