Shining a light on the need for transparency and accountability is never easy.

As posted on Facebook today: Sometimes, unavoidably, one person’s vision for transparency and truth leads to another person’s humiliation. While humiliation has never been (nor will it ever be) BeyondPMSA’s objective or intention in any forum, if it does occur, then it can only do so as a consequence of the choices and approaches of those who are the subject of scrutiny. And make no mistake, there is ALWAYS a choice.

One of the aims of Beyond PMSA was to establish a forum for supporters to share information and ideas to help achieve this shared goal. Our Facebook group is also intended to be a safe place for asking genuine questions about issues that matter to you as stakeholders.

That we have been passionate and LOUD as a group in questioning the status quo does not make doing this wrong, unproductive or unhelpful. And it can never transfer responsibility for the poor choices and mishandling of events by the PMSA that have already affected our fine schools.

Remember it’s never wrong to ask for those in positions of responsibility to do better. To expect better for our schools, our students, and our wonderful staff is right and moral.

From day one, Beyond PMSA has sought to pursue its objectives honestly, accurately, and constructively. Our pursuit of constructive solutions is clear from our discussion of potential governance models at the Town Hall Meeting and through direct appeal to the Moderators of the Uniting and Presbyterian Churches. Updates on both of these issues will be provided soon.

While we would love for our campaign to be a sprint, it could also be a marathon. Rest assured we are prepared for it and hope you will continue to rally behind us along the way. We are working hard behind the scenes on a range of actions and will provide further information when the time is right.

Finally and importantly, please remember that whilst we should never resile from the need to ask hard questions, in doing so our intentions must remain focused and pure. This can never be a forum for gossip, innuendo, or defamatory comments. The way that we all conduct ourselves must always be beyond reproach. Succeeding in any other manner would just be hollow.

Thank you for your continued support, and thank you for the overwhelmingly positive way in which you have all provided it to date.
