Donation Confusion at the PMSA - Update

The Somerville House Foundation has provided clarification to the Beyond PMSA community as to their corporate structure and charity status. The Somerville House Foundation has also outlined how donations to the Somerville House Annual Appeal will be directed this year. This is a worthy cause, and we urge you to support the Foundation in its fund raising activities.

We hope that the PMSA will provide the Beyond PMSA community with similar clear, transparent clarification and assurances as to the destination of donations made to these fabulous schools.

Stakeholders want to donate and support the schools (and Beyond PMSA is very supportive of, and encourages continued donations), however stakeholders need to trust that that have all the facts about how funds will be received, recorded and applied.

The blog “Donation Confusion at the PMSA” did not highlight any new issues or concerns for the school communities. The PMSA should be well aware of the state of stakeholder confusion over donation destination, as the problems outlined in the blog have existed for many years.

It is a drag on funding of the PMSA’s own making. Clarifying these issues is a responsibility that the PMSA is tasked with, and which to date, they have failed to address. The stakeholders (and donors) of these four schools would appreciate a quick, simple and transparent remedy to the confusion over donations made to PMSA schools.
